How to receive new items in inventory

If you have enabled the Inventory Control feature for your business location, the posIPOS iPad Point of Sale system allows you to enter the quantity of items that you have received in your inventory on any date, and even the price that you paid for these items. This allows the system to track how many items you have in stock at any of your business locations, how many items you have sold since the last import, how many items you have received in your inventory over a specific period of time, and even the cost that you paid for the items in your inventory.

To receive a new quantity of items in the inventory associated with one of your business locations, you can click the Receive Inventory link under the Inventory main menu. This page allows you to view the quantity of items sold since your last inventory update, as well as the quantity of items available in stock. You can filter the report by location and category, or you can search by item name, description, SKU or UPC.

To receive items in the selected location's inventory, find the items that you want to update, enter the quantity of items received in the Receive Inventory field, and press the Update button. Even if multiple items are displayed on the report, the inventory will be updated only for the items where you enter a quantity of items received greater than 0 (zero). Optionally, you can specify the unit price that you paid for the received items, so you can track your costs.

To view a report of all the items that you have received in your inventory during any specific time interval, together with the price that you paid for these items, you can access Received Inventory link under the Inventory main menu.
